Apple in discussions with Nuance over voice recognition for iOS 5?

According to TechCrunch Apple is manufacturer of the widely popular Dragon Dictation voice recognition software in discussions with nuance.

Apple negotiated a deal with nuance in the last few months, we have heard from multiple sources. What does that mean? Now, it could an acquisition mean, but that is pretty unlikely at this time we hear. What is more likely, this a partnership means that crucial for both companies and could shape the future of the iOS.

Apple moved trouble renegotiation of nuance license branch which artificial intelligence app, SIRI, who at first but later technology on vlingo to the nuance, but Apple had reportedly previously. Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak on the way of a flurry of rumors end last year, when he casual (and probably accidentally) said, that Apple nuance had already bought. (He said SIRI probably).

A buyout would be expensive for Apple, but a license would help them remain competitive in the area of device - nuance co-founder Mike Cohen allegedly helped speech recognition for Google and Android is now far beyond Apple in this area.

And the truth is that nuance Apple also needs. Not only threatened by Google, but nuance technology is simply not very meaningful without apps that use it such as Siri. And many of these apps appear where conjecture: iOS.

It is rumored for a while that Apple will incorporate SIRI in iOS 5 on the main level, and to make them only nuance that happen to. Whether this an expensive marriage or an expansive partnership means - or even nothing - remains to be seen.
